Mission & Vision

The EuroPharm Forum is a joint network of national pharmaceutical associations and the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. It was founded in January 1992. The EuroPharm Forum strives to empower professional associations of pharmacists.

Mission
The mission of the EuroPharm Forum is to improve health in Europe according to priorities set by the World Health Organization. This work is effected through dialogue and cooperation with and among the national pharmaceutical associations, and technical input and advice from the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The Forum seeks to strengthen all aspects of the pharmacist's contribution to health in Europe.

Vision
The EuroPharm Forum should be an organisation with the ability to react and respond to the needs of the Forum members and the WHO. In 2009, the EuroPharm Forum formulated a vision for the year 2020: The pharmacists' focus is to benefit the patient. As many people in Europe as possible should benefit from the best possible service managed by a pharmacist from a pharmacy from a community or hospital pharmacy, and all countries from the WHO European Region should be represented by at least one pharmaceutical association in the Forum.

Objectives
The EuroPharm Forum aims are firmly rooted in WHO policies and priorities and are effected in close dialogue and co-operation between the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the member associations of the Forum.

The aims of the Forum are:
  • to improve health in the WHO European Region
  • to support the implementation of WHO policies in the European region
  • to formulate policy statements on health issues identified at the General Assembly of the Forum
  • to promote the integration of appropriate aspects of policies of WHO policies  into basic, postgraduate and continuing pharmaceutical education
